We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our GGM Book Club. In addition, you’re invited to be part of something truly special!
Our first event, One Book, One Community, kicks off on October 15 and will run for four weeks. During this time, we’ll be reading “The Elves and the Shoemaker” by Eric Suben (Little Golden Book) alongside the children from GGM. For this reason, we want you to join us!

Why Join the GGM Book Club?

Joining the GGM Book Club offers you a unique opportunity to connect with our students in Gaza through the power of reading. Indeed, imagine a world where stories weave us together and transcend boundaries.

Each month, we’ll dive into a new book, sparking discussions and also solving creative challenges together.
For the children, these events bring much-needed joy, thus creating a sense of community and belonging as we explore stories collectively.

Each event will also feature fun, interactive challenges such as our upcoming Drawing Challenge. Here, participants will get to draw their favorite characters from the book. This is just one of many activities that make our book club more than just reading—it’s about creativity, connection, and engagement.

Do you remember Amir? He’s excited to join us for the reading event and has a message for you in this video:

A Special Fundraiser for Our First Event: 100 Warm Jackets

We’re combining our love of reading with a meaningful fundraiser for this kick-off event. Our goal is to raise donations now to provide 100 warm jackets (£25 each) for the children in our schools who need them most. These jackets will shield them from the cold. Furthermore, they also serve as a reminder that the world cares about them and their futures.

Note: This fundraiser is specific to the One Book, One Community event. Therefore, future GGM Book Club events will come with new fundraising goals to help the children in other meaningful ways.

Connect and Engage!

Throughout the event, we’ll dive deep into the story, discuss the book with our students, answer questions, and explore the story’s magic together. However, it’s not just about reading; it’s about solving weekly challenges, sharing perspectives, and building meaningful connections.

We’ll also host a X (Twitter) Community Group for participants to discuss the book, share ideas and pictures, and engage with others passionate about this cause.

We will read again—together, we empower education and warmth!

PS: The book we will be reading costs about 4 USD as an e-book.
It‘s available on different platforms. You can find them here.
For the challenges, it is important that we all read the same edition. 🙂

PPS: A big thank you to my wonderful friend Béa for creating the beautiful cover illustration for this blog post!

Amgad, one of our enthusiastic students, will also be joining us for the reading event!
